Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the new Rootin' Bookstore, our attempt to get you offline and holed up with some quality reading materials about all of the usual Rootin' Around topics.
This bookstore is an outgrowth of Amazon.com's associate program, which encourages niche-targeted sites like this to recommend like-minded books, cassettes and CDs to site visitors. The goal -- to aggregate some great titles in one easy-to-browse place and make it easy for you to purchase them (in the event you cannot find them at your local library or independent bookstore).
While I'm the first to support great used and independent bookstores, occasions do arise which call for a store with a larger selection.
Rather than support the mammoth megastores like Barnes & Noble and Borders, which have driven many of my favorite local independent bookstores out of business, I have found myself turning to Amazon.com time and time again over the past year. I have been impressed by the reliability of service, large selection of obscure, hard-to-find titles and excellent customer service.
All orders placed on Amazon.com as a result of links originating on the Rootin' Around site are processed by Amazon.com, with a small commission fee paid to this site for helping generate any resultant purchases.
Instead of trying to summarize the associate agreement between the two sites, I'll let Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos do the honors (right). we also encourage you to visit Amazon.com's detailed FAQs and help pages, to answer any questions you might have about secure online ordering, shipment methods and billing procedures.
I hope you enjoy the Rootin' Bookstore and actually find the time to read some of the titles listed on the site. One never realizes how many books one has read in one's lifetime until one sits down late at night to compile a list of "must-reads" for one's own virtual bookshop. All that sappiness aside, it's time to get back to the store and get busy.
